„Es war einmal“ die Zeit, die in der es für die Popstars der Musikszene noch MTV, VIVA und TheDome gegeben hat, und in der Veröffentlichungswoche bis zum 12ten August besingen nicht nur die Beginner diese Zeit, sondern es gibt mal auch mal wieder Veröffentlichungen von Bands aus dieser Zeit.
Nach den Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blink182 & KoRn melden sich dieses Jahr auch Green Day wieder zurück. Mit dem Instant-Grat „Bang Bang“, der den gewohnt typischen rockigen Sound hat, kündigen die mittlerweile Altrocker ihr kommendes Album „Revolution Radio“ an, welches am 7. Oktober erscheinen wird. Ebenfalls zurück melden sich Bon Jovi, die auch ihrem Stil treu geblieben sind und mit dem Lied „This House is not for Sale“, welches überraschenderweise eine eigene Single und kein Instant-Grat ist, ordentlichen Poprock abliefern.
Nebst diesen Größen des Musikgeschäfts geben sich auch noch andere bekannte internationale und nationale Künstler die Klinke in die Hand. Popfans freuen sich über einen weiteren Instant-Grat von Britney Spears, die neue Single von Kate Nash und dem Radiopop von One Republic. Rockfans können hingegen glücklich werden mit den neuen Liedern von Delain, Sonata Artica und einem zuvor nicht veröffentlichten Lied von den White Stripes. Nicht mit englischer Sprache, sondern mit Deutschrap und einem hessischem Akzent versuchen die Frankfurter Rapper Hanybal & Nimo die HipHop-Fans zu überzeugen, haben dabei aber starke Konkurrenz durch die neuen Lieder von Alpha Gun und Kay One. Gemischtsprachiger ist es in der deutschen Dance-Szene, die sowohl englischsprachigen Gesang durch Graham Candy als auch deutsche Textuntermalung bei Finger & Kadel bietet.
